It's hot... damn hot.

There's nothing like a hot stinky day to make you love summer in the city. To make matters worse, our only reprieve may be doing us some harm.

According to a recent article in the International Journal of Obesity, air conditioning could be as responsible for the rising number of obese people in the United States as are overeating and underexercising. The logic is that by putting ourselves in temperature-controlled environments we're not burning the calories needed to regulate our own temperatures naturally. Furthermore, having AC in your car as well as in restaurants makes it more conducive for us to head out and stuff our faces.

So in response to this study, from now on I'm teaching all classes with the air conditioning turned off. Woohoo!!
